Juventus and Lazio are two of Serie A’s most important teams in recent years. The clubs are, also, the only two Italian sides who managed to earn points from the latest Champions League round. Now, defender Leonardo Bonucci talks about this weekend’s derby.

As a reminder, Lazio managed to grab a point in their fixture against Zenit St. Petersburg. Felipe Caicedo scored for I Biancocelesti in the 82nd minute.

The two will meet in one of Italy’s most enduring derbies on Sunday. The match will be played at 12:30pm at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

Leonardo Bonucci, one of Juventus’ most important players, took to social media to talk about the derby.

Winning tonight [against Ferencváros] was fundamental not only in view of the Champions League but also for ourselves. Now it’s time to focus on Serie A. Sunday is an important challenge against a great team, Lazio. Our objective: to repeat our good performance.

Juventus won the Scudetto once again in 2019/20. However, as it stands, under the new management of Andrea Pirlo, they currently sit in third place in the league.

Meanwhile, Lazio has managed to turn their poor debut of the season around. Simone Inzaghi’s team is in 10th place, having won their last two league encounters.
