Lazio met Juventus at Stadio Olimpico on Sunday. The Roman based club will be the happiest of the two. Felipe Caicedo managed a late goal that awarded his side an important point. Lazio’s manager Simone Inzaghi was asked whether this was the toughest match of his career after the match.
I do not believe so. We have had so many tough games. We have played in finals and won and lost. But, it was a very important match. We had to change our plans because of the problems concerning injuries and squad rotation. We had to give everything we had and we did.
Inzaghi also took the opportunity to single out Joaquin Correa. The Argentine was one of the team’s most important players against Juventus.
He played a great match today. He is one of those who, together with Milinkovic-Savic and Acerbi, does not rest for a minute in these difficult matches. He was a thorn in the side of the Juventus’ defense, but also defended well himself.
Besides Correa, Inzaghi also spoke fondly of Vedat Muriqi and Luiz Felipe’s performances. The manager concluded by saying that he expected a good performance from his team, and was not left disappointed.
