Evaluating Lazio’s 2020 Summer Transfer Window Signings

A lot has been made of Lazio’s market dealings this summer. There are those who think that the new transfers are not up to the standard of the Biancocelesti while others have full confidence in the work of Igli Tare, the club’s current Sporting Director.

The only certainty is that Simone Inzaghi has many new players available. Some arrived later than what was originally expected, but having new recruits turned out to be helpful as Lazio has already gone through a difficult period involving injuries.

Now that most of the squad’s members are available for selection, it’s time to look at how the new transfers are panning out. Lazio Page published a report showing how many minutes each new player has been on the field.

7th Most Minutes: Mohamed Fares | 529’
8th Most Minutes: Wesley Hoedt | 494’
10th Most Minutes: Pepe Reina | 450’
13th Most Minutes: Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro | 399’
17th Most Minutes: Vedat Muriqi | 284’
21st Most Minutes: Andreas Pereira | 144’
22nd Most Minutes: Gonzalo Escalante | 94’

Mohamed Fares has been active the most number of minutes. His 529 minutes account for the five times in which the Algerian left-back played for Lazio this season. The Biancocelsti supporters expect a lot from Fares, as well as from Lazio’s other new transfers.
