COVID-19 Tests Submitted by Lazio for Juventus Clash to Be Retested

About 100 tests carried out by the Lazio squad before their league clash against Juventus last weekend will be retested, according to a report from Italian media outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi yesterday.

The report details how the roughly 100 tests will be retested today at the Moscati Hospital in Avellino. The Rome Prosecutor’s Office have appointed technical consultant Dr. Maria Landi, head of the department of Microbiology and Virology of the previously mentioned hospital, to oversee the re-testing.

The aim is the establish the correctness of the procedures carried out by Italian laboratory Futura Diagnostica, the report continues, the laboratory used by the Biancocelesti for their Covid-19 tests.

The president of the board of directors of the laboratory Massimiliano Taccone has reserved the right to appoint his own technical consultant.

Lazio’s Ciro Immobile, Thomas Strakosha and Lucas Leiva have all returned inconsistent Covid-19 tests over the last few weeks, ruling them out of two Champions League clashes but allowing them to face Torino at the start of this month, creating confusion.
