Lazio defender Francesco Acerbi has been given the green light to join the Italy camp, according to a report from Italian news outlet ANSA earlier today.
The report details how the 32-year-old Italian defender, who is contracted to the Biancocelesti until 2023, was in trusted isolation, after members of his squad had tested positive for Covid-19.
After a short period in this isolation, Acerbi has now been given the proper authorization to join the Azzurri ahead of their Nations League matches against Poland and Bosnia next week.
The 32-year-old Italian will travel tonight to the team’s training ground in Coverciano, alongside Inter midfielder Nicolo Barella, who was also in trusted isolation.
Acerbi has made 10 appearances across all competitions so far this season for Lazio, for a total of 900 minutes. In that time, he has provided two assists and helped the side keep one clean sheet, playing every available minute.
The former Sassuolo defender has made nine Italy appearances since his debut in 2014.
