Lazio’s Luiz Felipe & Fares Stay In Rome After Declining National Team Callups

Lazio’s Luiz Felipe and Mohamed Fares have turned down their national team call-ups, remaining in Rome during this international break, according to a report from Italian radio broadcaster Radiosei earlier today.

The report details how the 23-year-old Brazilian defender, who is contracted to the Biancocelesti until 2022, turned down a call up from the Brazilian national team, due to the fact that they had no matches scheduled, instead meeting to simply train together.

Luiz Felipe has recently returned from an ankle injury and wants to use this break to recover and regain his fitness as much as possible, ahead of the next game against Crotone on the 21st November. On Monday, the Brazilian had some medical tests that did not cause any concern.

Fares declined the call-up from Algeria for their two Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Zimbabwe, the report continues, as he wants to continue his process of settling in the Italian capital, having only moved to the city at the start of last month.
