Lazio Wishes Ex-Striker Sergio Floccari a Happy 39th Birthday

Currently playing for SPAL, Floccari was not forgotten by his former team, Lazio. The Biancocelesti wished him a happy 39th birthday on their social media accounts.

A header that made history. Happy birthday Sergio!

Who can forget that header against Juventus, on January 29, 2013, in the Coppa Italia? After a 1-1 draw, Lazio hosted Juventus in the second leg of the Coppa Italia Semi-Final. The Biancocelesti went ahead with a goal from Alvero Gonzalez. However, Arturo Vidal scored an equalizer in the first minute of injury-time. Then, in the last minute of extra time, Floccari – with a great header – scored against Juve. As a result, Lazio beat the Bianconeri and made it to the final of the Coppa Italia.

This was a final played on May 26, 2013; a match and final that has become historic. Senad Lulic, in the 71st minute, scored the decisive goal against Derby della Capitale rivals AS Roma.

As for Sergio Floccari, the striker has proven to be quite the journeyman. His career has seen him play for teams such as Lazio, Genoa, Atalanta, and Bologna. For the past three seasons, he has played for SPAL.
