Lazio Interested in Hellas Verona Midfielder Mattia Zaccagni

Lazio are interested in signing Hellas Verona midfielder Mattia Zaccagni in next summer’s transfer window, according to a report from Italian media outlet Calciomercato earlier today.

The report details how the Biancocelesti have joined Inter in the list of clubs interested in the 25-year-old Italian attacking midfielder, who is contracted to the Gialloblu until 2022.

The player was recently called to the Italy first team by coach Roberto Mancini for the first time (November International Break), although he has not earned his debut just yet.

Hellas Verona do not want to be caught unprepared and are already working on renewing his contract, ahead of next summer’s transfer window. Lazio’s rivals for the player, Inter, have a good relationship with the Gialloblu and could use that to their advantage.

Zaccagni has made eight appearances across all competitions so far this season, providing three assists in that time. Last season, the 25-year-old Italian made 35 appearances across all competitions, scoring two goals and providing nine assists.
