Lazio Captain Senad Lulic Close To Recovery After Training With The Squad Yesterday

Lazio captain Senad Lulic featured in squad training yesterday and may return to the pitch by the end of the month, according to a report from Italian radio broadcaster Radiosei earlier today.

The report details how the 34-year-old Bosnian midfielder, who is contracted to the Roman side until the end of the season, last featured under coach Simone Inzaghi in the 0-0 draw with Hellas Verona at the start of February.

Since then, Lulic has undergone two ankle operations and his recovery time has been consistently extended, struggling to work past the injuries.

The 34-year-old, who has been with the Roman club since 2011, trained entirely with the squad yesterday at Formello, suggesting that he is near the completion of his recovery.

Whilst he is unlikely to feature against Crotone on the 21st November, he could appear in the games against Udinese (29th November), Spezia (6th December) and Hellas Verona (13th December).

Lulic will not be able to feature in the Champions League until the re-opening of player registration, forcing him to wait until February and the round of 16 of the competition, that Lazio still must qualify for.
