Today, Lazio’s Health Director Ivo Pulcini will have his hearing with the Federal Prosecutor regarding the Covid-19 tests administered to the Lazio squad in recent weeks. Pulcini will be accompanied by Lazio’s lawyer, Gian Michele Gentile, who stated to Radiosei that he is very confident about the meeting.
We are very calm since we know we have done everything in compliance with the rules and the protocol. Yes, we have communicated this, in written form, to the ASL. We will present ourselves with the required paper-work before the ministry.
As a reminder, Lazio has been at the center of a media battle in recent weeks. The controversy was sparked when certain players were not able to play in the UEFA Champions League matches against Club Brugge and Zenit St. Petersburg but were able to play against Torino between these two aforementioned matches.
Some media outlets have accused the club of forging testing and using players that were positive with Covid-19 in Serie A matches. There have even been individuals suggesting that Lazio should be penalized.
However, Gentile has continuously and vigorously denied these claims. The same representative says that they are prepared to cooperate with authorities in order to lay the issue to rest after a stressful period for the club.
