Comedian Max Giusti Apologizes for Imitation of Lazio President Claudio Lotito

Italian comedian Max Giusti apologized for his recent video joking about Lazio President Claudio Lotito and the Biancocelesti’s new private Boeing 737-300 in an interview with Italian radio broadcaster Radio Incontro Olympia earlier today.

The video has travelled around the world, everything on social media is uncontrolled. The video was born to make people laugh, I imagined Lotito on Sunday with his plane. He reminds me of my father when he went on tour.

He is my friend, he came on shows to be himself with me. I have never done it before or after a derby, I have never offended him. If the Lazio fans were offended, I apologize.

He commented on how Lotito is a strong and friendly character, and how both Roma and Lazio need each other.

Lotito is one of the few characters who can and does stand up to anyone. He’s quick with words, he always answers you, I’m fond of him. But if someone feels hurt, I feel hurt. I have never been an anti-Lazio peron.

Can you imagine what Lazio would have been like without Roma or Roma without Lazio in recent years? At least we had fun. I cheer for Roma, my father for Lazio, I’m fine among both the Romanisti and the Laziali.

Lotito gifted the private and personalized plane to the team last week. The aircraft will be available to transport the squad and staff to away fixtures both in Italy and across Europe, costing around €700 thousand per year.

Spanish midfielder Luis Alberto did not seem impressed with the purchase, ranting on social media about it. He quickly apologized and was fined by the club; he could also miss the upcoming league clash against newly-promoted Crotone this weekend as a result.

Lazio are currently ninth in the league after seven games, sitting on 11 points, three behind rivals Roma. Crotone are currently bottom of the table, failing to win once so far, and only drawing twice.
