Formello: Lazio’s Lucas Leiva Has Returned to Squad Training

Lazio midfielder Lucas Leiva returned to squad training today in Formello after recovering from Covid-19, according to a report from Italian media outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi earlier today.

The report details how the 33-year-old Brazilian midfielder, who is contracted to the Biancocelesti until 2022, has been given the green light from the Local Health Authority to return to the squad, taking part in training today.

Thomas Strakosha and Ciro Immobile are expected to return soon, when given the proper authorization.

Luiz Felipe and Gonzalo Escalante were both absent, although the 27-year-old Argentinian will soon resume individual training.

Pepe Reina also returned to training, the report continues, after resting last week. Over the coming days, the full squad will start to return to Formello, after completing their international duty.

Coach Simone Inzaghi’s tactical sessions for the upcoming clash against newly promoted side Crotone will begin on Thursday, ahead of Saturday’s clash.
