Decisive Day for Lazio Goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha After Taking Another COVID-19 Test

Today is a decisive day for Lazio goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha, who has undergone another Covid-19 test in the hopes of returning to the pitch, according to a report from Italian media outlet Cittaceleste.it earlier today.

The report details how the 25-year-old Albanian shot stopper, who is contracted to the Biancocelesti until 2022, made his last appearance for coach Simone Inzaghi’s side in their Champions League win over Borussia Dortmund almost a month ago.

Since then, the player has absent. The tests analysed by Futura Diagnostica always returned negative, but those tested at the Biomedical Campus and the ones re-tested at Moscati d’Avellino both returned positive, the report continues.

Today’s test is currently being processed, with the results expected to be released tomorrow. His teammate, Lucas Leiva, has finally returned to the squad after also missing the majority of the last month due to positive Covid-19 tests.

Strakosha has made five appearances across all competitions so far this season, conceding nine goals and keeping one clean sheet.
