Formello: Lazio Defender Luiz Felipe Absent From Squad Training For 8 Days Now

Lazio defender Luiz Felipe did not train with the squad today for the 8th day in a row, according to a report from Italian media outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi earlier today.

The report details how the 23-year-old Brazilian, who is contracted to the Biancocelesti until 2022, has not been seen on the pitch since the Roman side’s 1-1 draw against Juventus before the international break, on the 8th November.

After that game the player went for a medical check, with an apparent ankle issue. The check did not find any important issues, but he has not returned to squad training since those tests.

The player could potentially have Covid-19, the report continues, and was forced to miss the Champions League clash against Club Brugge last month due to a positive test.

His availability for the upcoming league clash against Crotone this weekend will be determined over the next few days.

Brazilian midfielder Lucas Leiva attended squad training for the second day in a row, after being given the go ahead by the Local Health Authority on the weekend.

The players who are away with their respective national teams will be returning over the next 48 hours and coach Simone Inzaghi has already begun tactical training, despite the absences.

Ciro Immobile and Thomas Strakosha’s availability for this weekend’s match is also unclear, as they are still waiting for negative Covid-19 tests.
