Immobile was forced to miss two Champions League matches against Club Brugge and Zenit St. Petersburg, the report continues, as well as a vital league fixture against reigning champions Juventus, frustrating the 30-year-old Italian.

The player has made six appearances across all competitions so far this season, scoring four goals and providing one assist in that time.

Last season, Immobile netted 39 times and provided eight assists as the Biancocelesti finally qualified for the Champions League again.
