Lazio winger Cristiano Lombardi, who is currently on loan with Serie B side Salernitana, talked about his future in an interview with Tutto Mercato Web.
So far this season, Lombardi has made four appearances for the Granata; the club currently sits in seventh place in the second tier of Italian football with a record of 3W-3D-1L (12 points).
There were negotiations with a few clubs in June. Also, I tried to talk to Lazio, which I though would be the best solution for me. However, we all agreed to this arrangement to join Salernitana again; it’s now the place to which I feel the closest.
Future in Salerno? For me, there would be no problem. I have a great relationship with the President of the club, and whenever we talked there has always been great respect.
I still have a long contract with Lazio, but I have had a wonderful time wearing the Granata jersey and I expect to get even more satisfaction playing for the club.
Born in 1996, the Italian has been owned by the Biancocelesti for his whole career. However, despite being a homegrown player (who was deemed to have the potential to become a starter in the first team), Lombardi has made just 19 total appearances for Lazio; all of which came in the 2016/17 season.
The 25-year-old’s contract with the Biancocelesti expires in June 2022.
