Lazio defender Luiz Felipe tested positive for Covid-19 two days after the Biancocelesti’s 1-1 draw with Juventus earlier this month, according to coach Simone Inzaghi in the pre-match press conference earlier today.
The 23-year-old Brazilian center back, who is contracted to the Roman side until 2022, played the full 90 minutes against the Bianconeri earlier in November and played well, also featuring against Torino the previous weekend.
At the start of the season, Luiz Felipe was suffering from an ankle injury that forced him to miss the first four league games, although he returned in time for the 3-1 win over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.
The Brazilian defender has taken another Covid-19 test recently and should he tested negative, Lazio expect him to recover his fitness in a few days.
Last season, Luiz Felipe made 30 appearances across all competitions, for a total of 2359 minutes. In that time, he scored one goal, provided one assist and helped the side keep 11 clean sheets.
