Lazio Goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha Underwent Medical Checks This Morning

Lazio goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha underwent medical checks at the Paideia clinic this morning and could join coach Simone Inzaghi’s squad for tomorrow’s game against Crotone, according to an official announcement by the Biancocelesti earlier today.

The report details how the 25-year-old Albanian shot stopper, who is contracted to the Roman side until 2022, played his last game exactly a month ago, against German side Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.

Since then, Strakosha has been battling Covid-19, which has forced him to miss the last five games across all competitions.

The Lazio squad leave for Crotone later today, and the 25-year-old goalkeeper could still find himself on the squad list, despite only just returning.

Earlier this week both Lucas Leiva and Ciro Immobile also both returned to the squad, after receiving the proper authorization from the Local Health Authority.

Last season, Strakosha made 44 appearances across all competitions, conceding 51 goals and keeping 11 clean sheets.
