Lazio defender Stefan Radu will play in the Champions League for the first time in his career after being included in the Biancocelesti’s squad list for their remaining three group games, according to a report from Italian media outlet LazioNews24 earlier today.
The report details how the 34-year-old Romanian defender, who is contracted to the Roman side until the end of the season, has only ever played in the preliminary rounds of the competition earlier in his career, first with FC Dinamo Bucuresti and then with the Biancocelesti.
Radu has never played in the group stages of the competition, but will finally get his chance at 34 years old.
The Romanian centre back is expected to start as the left sided defender in Lazio’s upcoming European clash against Russian side Zenit St. Petersburg tomorrow, an exciting day for the Lazio veteran.
Radu has been with Lazio since 2008 and has won three Coppa Italia titles and three Supercoppa Italiana titles in that time.
