Lazio’s Ciro Immobile Will Make Champions League Return Against Zenit This Week

Lazio striker Ciro Immobile is ready to return to the Champions League after missing the last two games in the competition, according to a report from Italian radio broadcaster Radiosei earlier today.

The report details how the 30-year-old Italian striker, who is contracted to the Roman club until 2025, was forced to miss the last two European fixtures due to inconclusive Covid-19 tests, which also caused him to miss the clash against Juventus.

Immobile has recovered from the virus and played 75 minutes against Crotone this weekend, where he scored one goal and provided one assist, marking his return to the Biancocelesti squad.

The 30-year-old Italian has scored five goals in the Champions League across ten appearances with Lazio, Borussia Dortmund and Sevilla, playing 554 minutes in the competition throughout his career, meaning that he scores around one goal every 110 minutes.

This season, Immobile both scored and assisted against Dortmund last month in the Biancocelesti’s only win so far this campaign in the competition.
