Formello: Lazio Midfielder Gonzalo Escalante Returns to Squad Training

Lazio midfielder Gonzalo Escalante returned to the squad for coach Simone Inzaghi’s training session at Formello today, according to a report from Italian media outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi earlier today.

The report details how the 27-year-old Argentine midfielder suffered from a muscle strain after the 2-1 win over Bologna, and has finally neared the end of his recovery.

The player will join the squad for this weekend’s clash against Udinese.

Inzaghi called a small squad for the training session today, only those who did not started against Zenit St. Petersburg in the 3-1 win yesterday.

These players were Thomas Strakosha, Nicolò Armini, Luiz Felipe, Stefan Radu, Djavan Anderson, Danilo Cataldi, Andreas Pereira, Mohamed Fares and Felipe Caicedo, with some Primavera players also joining the session.

Kosovan forward Vedat Muriqi, who played briefly yesterday, may have suffered a muscle strain and is currently being monitored.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic will return to squad training tomorrow after testing negative for Covid-19.
