Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is expected to start for the Biancocelesti against Udinese this week, after recovering from Covid-19, according to a report from Italian newspaper il Messaggero earlier today.
The report details how the 25-year-old Serbian midfielder, who is contracted to the Roman club until 2024, attended the Paideia Clinic in Rome today to undergo medical checks, after testing negative for Covid-19 recently.
Milinkovic-Savic tested positive for the contagion whilst on international duty with his native Serbia, forcing him to enter quarantine and miss Lazio’s two games against Crotone and Zenit St. Petersburg.
After successfully completing the medical checks, Milinkovic-Savic attended this afternoon’s training session at Formello.
The 25-year-old Serbian midfielder is now expected to start against Udinese this weekend, ahead of the Roman club’s decisive Champions League match with Borussia Dortmund next week.
Milinkovic-Savic has made nine appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 748 minutes. In that time, he has scored two goals and provided one assist.
