Lazio’s match against Udinese on Sunday provided few reasons for Biancocelesti fans to smile. The team lost 3-1, unexpectedly, with plenty to work out ahead of their UEFA Champions League fixture that comes up next against Borussia Dortmund.
However, the match was a special one for wing-back Adam Marusic. The Montenegrin hit triple digits in terms of appearances for the club in official games.
Marusic joined Lazio back in 2016. He has since scored six goals for the Serie A side and has received many plaudits for his performances over the past four seasons.
Coming on as a substitute on Sunday against Udinese, Marusic had a good game. He completed 30 passes, 29 of which were successful. He also fought hard defensively and made two good tackles.
In spite of his efforts, the team found itself on the losing end this time. As a result, coach Simone Inzaghi will need to consider a series of changes ahead of the match against Borussia Dortmund; one of which could be Marusic playing from the first minute instead of Mohamed Fares.
