Former Lazio Youth and Women coach Roberto De Cosmi recently spoke to Lazio Style Radio about Lazio’s defeat to Udinese.
He first stated that says that the loss left all of the team’s supporters with a bitter taste in their mouths. He believes that the players were slow in interpreting Simone Inzaghi’s plans and incapable of fully expressing themselves creatively.
Although De Cosmi praised Udinese, he stated that Lazio allowed their opponents to seek out free spaces and create chances. He also highlighted the numerous mistakes made by Inzaghi’s players.
All in all, De Cosmi thinks that the match can be defined by the Roman clubs’ mistakes and failure to close down their opponents. Lazio’s defensive record this year does not please De Cosmi. He says that being scored against 16 times in 9 matches is not something to make the club proud. However, he believes in the defenders’ quality, provided they are able to manage and fully concentrate on their tasks.
