Lazio president Claudio Lotito wrote a long statement in tribute of club spokesman Arturo Diaconale, who sadly passed away earlier today, on the Biancocelesti’s official website.
Dear Arturo, you have left me. For many years we have known each other, first as simple friends, who meet, and like all friends we talked about everything in common, then as a precious collaborator that I strongly wanted in the Lazio family, of which you have always been a great supporter.
And immediately you started to bring ideas, propose projects, share your experience with the whole communication sector. Dear Arturo, it seems impossible for me not to see your elegant procession, made up of old-fashioned ladies, through the avenues of Formello.
Your voice, your way of exposing ideas, your calm and always open, kind way. Arturo, while struggling with all your strength, with dignity and in silence, you continued to call, to ask, to take an interest in how things were going. Example for many.
Arturo, I am more than certain that our Lord has welcomed and consoled you, giving you the strength to continue, in another way, to be close to your family and to all those to whom you have filled your life and who have known and appreciated you. Wherever you are…
Diaconale passed away earlier today at the age of 75, after a long illness. He previously underwent surgery in May of this year, before returning to work.
