Lazio are continuing to search for a main shirt sponsor, a problem that has persisted for some time now, according to a report from Italian media outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi earlier today.
The report details how the Biancocelesti previously had a sponsorship with betting company Marathonbet, with the six months from January 2019 to the summer earning the Roman club €7 million.
However, the Dignity Decree, which was introduced on July 14, 2018, prohibited Italian football clubs from being sponsored by gambling platforms. This forced Lazio to have to look for a new shirt sponsor again.
The Roman club have struggled to find a consistent shirt sponsor since their work with Parmacotto years ago. Many sponsors have either appeared briefly or for a single season, like Seleco, but a consistent sponsor has been absent.
With clubs like Napoli have Lete or Juventus having Jeep, President Claudio Lotito’s side is at an economic disadvantage, with the Biancocelesti losing around €7-10 million per season.
