Lazio Sporting Director Tare: “We Are Saddened and Worn by His Loss”

Lazio sporting director Igli Tare expressed his sadness over the death of Biancocelesti spokesman Arturo Diaconale in an interview with Italian news outlet Adnkronos earlier today.

We are saddened and worn by his loss, he suffered so much and us with him. He leaves us a great Lazio, a real man, a respectable person. It was a great honor to work with him.

We will miss him very much. Tomorrow in Dortmund for the Champions League match we will play with a black armband to remember him.

Diaconale, who had been the Biancocelesti’s spokesman since 2016 and was well-liked at the club, passed away earlier today at the age of 75, from an unspecified illness.

In May of this year, the Italian had undergone an operation, before returning to work.

Diaconale was also a member of the Board of Directors of Rai from August 4, 2015, until July 2018, and a respected journalist.

Lazio face Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund tomorrow evening in a key Champions League game. Should Simone Inzaghi’s side win in Germany, they will guarantee qualification to the next round of the tournament, a great achievement considering the team’s 13-year absence.

The Biancocelesti are currently second in the group table after four games, one point behind Lucien Favre’s side, who they beat in Rome earlier this season.
