Lazio Midfielder Andreas Pereira Hopes to Start Against Spezia Tomorrow

Lazio midfielder Andreas Pereira is hoping for a start against newly promoted Spezia this weekend, according to a report from Italian radio broadcaster Radiosei, as reported by La Lazio Siamo Noi.

The report details how the 24-year-old Brazilian midfielder, who is currently on loan at the Biancocelesti from Premier League side Manchester United, played a strong 20 minutes against Borussia Dortmund earlier this week, almost scoring directly from a free kick and showing exciting ideas.

Pereira wants to be consistent in his performances and so wants to start against Spezia this week, in what would be only his second start so far across all competitions.

Coach Simone Inzaghi is thinking of giving Argentine forward Joaquin Correa a rest ahead of next week’s match against Club Brugge and so may find space for the Brazilian.

Argentine midfielder Gonzalo Escalante is also hoping for a start. The 27-year-old has fully recovered from his injury troubles and could start in place of Lucas Leiva, who would also be rested for next week’s Champions League fixture.
