Italian Journalist De Bari: “Clear Now That Pepe Reina Is Lazio’s Starting Goalkeeper”

Pepe Reina / Lazio

Italian journalist Gabriele De Bari discussed this evening’s vital Champions League clash against Club Brugge and the win against Spezia on the weekend in an interview with Italian radio broadcaster Radiosei yesterday.

Two points earnt against Spezia. It’s not the Lazio we expected even if the result rewarded them. It’s clear now that Pepe Reina has become the starting goalkeeper, he saved a shot with an extraordinary stop.

He proves to be an important goalkeeper. If Inzaghi also took him to the press conference, it’s because he’s convinced that he’s now the starting goalkeeper.

De Bari then looked ahead to this evening’s fixture against Club Brugge, a key game. If the Biancocelesti manage to avoid losing, they’ll qualify for the next round of the Champions League.

The possibility of finishing first still exists even if those who finish first don’t always get the best draw. It would be an excellent result that would give prestige, but the important thing is to qualify.

Lazio are currently second in Group F after five games, one point behind leaders Borussia Dortmund and two points ahead of third place Club Brugge.
