The Champions League Round of 16 draw, which includes Lazio, will take place next week on Monday, with the games being played in the new year, according to a report from Italian media outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi earlier today.
The report details how the Biancocelesti’s 2-2 draw with Belgian side Club Brugge yesterday was enough to guarantee qualification to the Round of 16 of the competition, a great achievement for coach Simone Inzaghi and the squad.
With Lazio finishing second, they will be drawn against one of the group stage winners next week, with possible opponents including top teams like RB Leipzig, Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool and Bayern Munich.
Following on from the draw next week, the first leg of the Round of 16 for Lazio could fall on one of four possible dates: 16th/17th/23rd/24th February.
The return leg would then be played on one of four possible dates: 9th/10th/16th/17th March.
Should Lazio win over these two legs, they would then enter into the Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals and Finals draw, that’ll take place on 19th March.
