Lazio’s Akpa Akpro at Risk of Suspension After Receiving 4 Yellow Cards in Serie A

Lazio midfielder Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro is at risk of being suspended in Serie A for accumulating five yellow cards, according to an official announcement by Lega Serie A.

The report details how the 28-year-old Ivorian midfielder, who is contracted to the Biancocelesti until 2022, has picked up four yellow cards in the league since the start of the season, with the most recent coming against Spezia in the 2-1 win on the weekend.

Serie A rules state that receiving five yellow cards in the league will cause you to miss the next game.

This means that Akpa Akpro is now at risk of missing the league clash against Benevento next week if he picks up a yellow against the Gialloblu on Saturday, as well as any other game following on from his next booking.

Akpa Akpro has made 15 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 583 minutes.

In that time, he has scored one goal and impressed under coach Simone Inzaghi.
