Italian Journalist Sarzanini: “Lazio Shouldn’t Rush Senad Lulic’s Return”

Italian journalist Enrico Sarzanini discussed Lazio’s upcoming Serie A clash with Hellas Verona in an interview with Italian radio broadcaster Lazio Style Radio earlier today.

The fact that Lazio don’t win at home somewhat clashes with what we saw last year where the Olimpico was Lazio’s fortress. This year Covid has changed things, playing home or away makes little difference.

However, the league table is incredibly tight, if you win you rise but if you lose you risk being sucked into the middle of the table.

He touched on the Biancocelesti’s upcoming opponents the Gialloblu, who are currently 8th in Serie after 10 games, sitting on 16 points, one behind the Roman side.

Verona are one of the surprises of the season, they’re a team that fights and plays very well. Defensively, despite not having top players, they play very well. From a formation point of view there’s many doubts, starting from the back, so it’s good that there’s two goalkeepers up to scratch.

The Italian journalist spoke about Lazio’s wing backs.

We’ll have to understand what he’ll do with the wing backs, I think Marusic will have to rest. I think that Fares still hasn’t reached 100% fitness yet, but it’s a very strange season.

He discussed Lazio captain Senad Lulic, who is working to be fit in time for the match.

Lulic should return when he feels fit, Lazio have the alternatives, it’s clear that he’s an important absence for what he represents for Lazio, but we must not force a quicker return.

Finally, Sarzanini spoke about 1982 World Cup winner Paolo Rossi, who sadly passed away yesterday at the age of 64.

Another sporting champion who’s passed. Let’s hope that this year ends soon, we lost another symbol of our football and Italy’s history.
