Lazio captain Senad Lulic returned to Formello and trained in the gym yesterday, after undergoing further surgery on his ankle, according to a report from Italian radio broadcaster Radiosei earlier today, as reported by La Lazio Siamo Noi.
The report details how the 34-year-old Bosnian midfielder had a third ankle operation recently, a less invasive one to help clear the ankle of synovial fluid.
He was seen at the training ground in Formello yesterday training individually in the gym, hoping for a return after Christmas.
Lulic hoped to return to the pitch last month for the match against Udinese, but he was not ready yet. He has no intention of giving up and is working hard to represent the Roman club once again.
The 34-year-old’s return would complete the wing back department, with Manuel Lazzari and Adam Marusic on the right and Mohamed Fares and Lulic on the left.
Lulic’s contract with Lazio expires at the end of the season, after nine years at the club.
