Lazio Forward Vedat Muriqi May Make His Return Against Hellas Verona This Weekend

Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi is hoping to have Kosovan forward Vedat Muriqi available for this weekend’s league clash against Hellas Verona, according to a report from Italian newspaper il Tempo earlier today.

The report details how Italian striker Ciro Immobile is likely to be rested against the Gialloblu this weekend after an important performance against Club Brugge earlier this week, forcing Inzaghi to consider other attacking options.

The 44-year-old Italian coach hopes that 26-year-old Kosovan Muriqi will be fit enough to feature against Ivan Juric’s side on Saturday, the report continues.

Muriqi was injured against Zenit St. Petersburg in the Champions League over two weeks ago and has been back in training in Formello in recent days, although he’s still working individually currently.

Depending on the signals received over today and tomorrow, the 26-year-old Kosovan could make his return against Hellas Verona on Saturday.

Muriqi has made eight appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 293 minutes. He’s also missed eight games due to both Covid-19 and injuries.
