“Certain Episodes Condemned Us” – Parolo Discusses the Mistakes That Led to Verona’s Victory Over Lazio

Heading into the matchup against Hellas Verona, Lazio came off qualifying for the UEFA Champions League Round of 16.

Although the Biancocelesti would have wanted to carry this momentum into Serie A to pick up a victory, it did not happen against Ivan Juric’s men.

Any hopes of carrying that momentum and turning it into a win over Verona evaporated after two mistakes resulted in a 2-1 loss to the Gialloblu.

As a result, they currently find outside European positions with 17 from a possible 33 points.

Marco Parolo played all 90 minutes in the fixture at right center-back due to the absence of Patric and Luiz Felipe.

He went two for six on the ground and one for four in air duels. Parolo also had three clearances to round up his night against Verona.

After the match, Parolo spoke with Lazio Style Channel (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) to discuss the 2-1 loss.

The match was edgy, tough, and interpreted well. We fought without conceding almost anything but they were dangerous, and certain episodes condemned us.

On the first goal, Lazzari was unlucky, and on the second goal, Radu was fouled.

The performance was there, but it is also true that we must not let the games be guided by certain episodes…

There is regret and disappointment, but let’s look ahead.

Lazio will look to bounce back midweek as they take on Benevento Calcio away from home at the Stadio Ciro Vigorito.
