As the UEFA Champions League and Europa League group stages come to an end, the UEFA club rankings see an update to the coefficients.
For those who need a quick refresher on how this works, the club coefficients use the results of clubs competing in the five previous seasons of the Champions and Europa League. The club rankings help determine the seeding for clubs in relevant UEFA competition draws.
When it comes to Lazio’s ranking, the Biancocelesti finds themselves in 36th place in UEFA’s system. Having competed in Europe four out of the last five seasons, Lazio has done well to garner points, as they have 39 points.
However, having missed European competition during the 2016-17 season hurt Lazio’s ability to improve their ranking and push for a spot in the top 30 in the club rankings.
Nonetheless, Lazio has added 12 points this season after qualifying for the Round of 16 and could add more should they advance to the quarterfinals.
