Ex-Midfielder Di Livio: “Lazio Must Buy A Couple Of Players In January”

Former Juventus and Fiorentina midfielder Angelo Di Livio discussed Lazio’s current position after their loss to Hellas Verona on Saturday in an interview with Italian media outlet TuttoMercatoWeb yesterday.

“It’s normal for the Champions League to take something away from them. I’ve always praised Lotito, but the team is small.

“The starting eleven is very strong, but the backups, at certain levels, are not up to the mark. It’s enough to see when Immobile and Acerbi are not playing well. To do well we need a couple of players.”

Lazio’s loss to the Gialloblu on Saturday means that they are now ninth in the league table after 11 games, sitting on 17 points, four behind rivals Roma.

The Biancocelesti have lost twice in their last three consecutive Serie A games, showing inconsistent form domestically whilst still doing well in the Champions League.

The Roman club’s next game is away to Benevento tomorrow evening.
