Italian journalist Paolo Condo discussed Lazio’s draw against Bayern Munich in the Champions League Round of 16 in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia earlier today.
It could not have gone worse than this. It will certainly be a good match, but it’s the toughest team Lazio could meet. But there is one thing to be said, the Germans will not be happy with this draw.
Both teams finished their group stage undefeated in the competition, although the German side topped Group A after winning five of their six matches.
Lazio, whilst still impressive in Europe, were not able to top their group and came second to Borussia Dortmund, who drew Sevilla.
The first leg will be played on 16/17/23/24 February and the second leg will take place on 9/10/16/17 March, with the final dates yet to be confirmed.
Bayern are currently second in the Bundesliga after 11 games, sitting on 24 points, one behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen.
