FC Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer says his side will be the clear favorites in its UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tie against Lazio.
Bayern clinched its Champions League group undefeated over the six fixtures. Lazio did not win its Champions League group but it did finish undefeated over the fixtures as well. Still, Neuer believes that his side heads into the contests as the all-odds favorites to defeat the Italian side and progress into the Champions League quarterfinal round. He provided his thoughts on Lazio in comments relayed by the Italian-based outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi.
Lazio are a strong team, but we are favorites. We know how dangerous Ciro Immobile is. Lewy is definitely looking forward to this duel and I will prepare well as a goalkeeper.
We have good memories of the stadium, where we won very clearly against Roma. Miroslav Klose, who played in Lazio, can also help us. We want to impose ourselves and move on to the next round.
Bayern forward Thomas Muller is also much looking forward to the clash. Like Neuer, Muller also signaled out Lazio forward Immobile as a player to watch in the tie.
