Ex-Juve Full Back Torricelli: “Lazio Need a Few New Players to Fight in Serie A”

Former Juventus full back Moreno Torricelli discussed Lazio’s Champions League Round of 16 draw against reigning European champions Bayern Munich in an interview with Italian radio broadcaster TMW Radio yesterday.

For Juventus, Porto are fine. For Atalanta and Lazio it will be more complicated, but they are playing against the biggest teams like Bayern and Real Madrid. So, all this can help the environment to do incredible things and generate an important enthusiasm.

You can lose yes, but these challenges push you so much. I hope that the fans can participate. Lazio have a small squad, they’re doing very well in the competition but to manage the league they need more men. A few new players would be ideal.

Lazio are currently 9th in the Serie A table after 11 games, sitting on 17 points, four behind rivals Roma. They have been inconsistent domestically, losing twice and drawing once in their last five league outings.

In Europe the Biancocelesti have performed better, finishing second in their group after remaining undefeated, winning twice and drawing four times.

Bayern also finished their group undefeated, but topped it with five wins and one draw.
