A Closer Look at 3 Top Performers from Lazio’s Fixture Against Benevento

Lazio’s performance against Benevento was frustrating for the club on many levels. Lazio dropped points for the third time in its last four fixtures. More so, the Biancocelesti had multiple chances to put the game away in the second half, but in the end, the club had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Nonetheless, there were several top performers from Lazio’s showing against Benevento. As pointed out by the Italian-based outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi, midfielder Gonzalo Escalante made his first Serie A start of the season for Lazio and was one standout performer. Escalante played in 80 minutes of the contest before being substituted off late by manager Simone Inzaghi.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic was once again the workhorse on the team. He recorded for 11,868 km traveled, which led the team. The Lazio midfielder also recorded an assist and a trio of ground duels won.

On key not from the fixture was that Lazio much preferred to attack the left flanks as that is where 39 percent of its attacking output came from.
