Ex-Coach Di Marzio: “Lazio’s Immobile Is the Most Modern Striker on a European Level”

Former Napoli coach Gianni Di Marzio discussed Lazio and star striker Ciro Immobile in an interview with Italian media outlet TMW Radio earlier today.

First, he spoke about if the Biancocelesti have achieved any brilliant moments lately.

Actually, I’ve seen many positives, also in view of Bayern. I saw excellent physical and athletic condition, then they’re very organized in midfield. I saw a careful defense, but they lacked in attack in the last thirty yards.

He moved onto discussing 30-year-old Italian Immobile.

He’s the most modern striker there is on a European level. He attacks space but does so in depth. How is it possible to discuss someone like him who scores so much? Maybe from a tactical point of view, but he has improved a lot technically.

Immobile, who is contracted to the Biancocelesti until 2025, has made 14 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1103 minutes.

In that time, he has scored 12 goals and provided two assists, being the clear star in the Roman squad.

Lazio’s disappointing result against Benevento yesterday means that they’re now 8th in the Serie A table after 11 games, sitting on 18 points, three less than rivals Roma.
