Italian Journalist Stefano De Grandis Analyzes Lazio’s Performance Against Benevento

Lazio is currently under a difficult time in Serie A play this season.

The Biancocelesti struggled to pick up all three points against Benevento, which now gives the club three winless results in its last four games.

In the fixture against Benevento, Lazio scored early but its goal-scoring struggles continued as the club did not add another goal to put the game away and pick up all three points.

Italian journalist Stefano De Grandis watched Lazio’s showing against Benevento and had a few observations of the fixture. He spoke more on the result for Lazio in comments relayed by the Italian-based outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi.

The big squads, when they are ahead, either close the game or put it to sleep. Lazio did neither of these things. They did not take advantage of the gap with Benevento.

Simone also made a mistake in the timing of the changes: Caicedo and Pereira had to enter first. It seems that footballers play more for aesthetics than for coherence.

Lazio has a pair of games to finish off the calendar year before the mini winter break, including a fixture against Napoli. Lazio is now in dire need of a winning streak in order to inch closer to a top-four standing in league play this season.
