Lazio has become an unpredictable team in all competitions this season.

Lazio has had its fair share of success in the UEFA Champions League this season as it finished group stage play undefeated over the six fixtures. But in Serie A, it has been a different story for the Biancocelesti due to the club’s current ninth-place standing.

For former Italian midfielder Antonio Di Gennaro, he believes that what Lazio is missing this season is key depth. The Italian touched on this team dilemma in comments relayed by the Italian-based outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi.

Already after July, it was understood: to do well in two competitions, you need at least 20 players and I think there are not in Lazio.

Lazio is set for a UEFA Champions League Round of 16 bout against FC Bayern Munich. Many are deeming Bayern as the overwhelming favorites to take care of Lazio and progress on through to the quarterfinal round of the competition. Di Gennaro is on board as well with Bayern being the heavy favorites in the tie.

Now they will have Bayern. Yes, it is the strongest team in the world but for me, they play it. I say 70 Bayern, 30 Lazio, but who knows.

Simone Inzaghi will surely seek to make it a difficult tie for Bayern.
