Italian Journalist Sconcerti: “Lazio Qualified for the UCL RO16 by Only a Few Points”

Italian journalist Mario Sconcerti discussed the Italian football teams, including Lazio, that are still competing in Europe in an interview with Italian radio broadcaster TMW Radio yesterday.

I wouldn’t be so excited about the six out of seven teams qualified in Europe. Out of eight groups in the Champions League, we only won one, Lazio and Atalanta qualified by a few points.

The Europa League is useless in the first round. It’s not us who have grown, but the other European big names who have come down to our level. The results of this league are predictable.

Lazio, Atalanta and Juventus have all qualified for the Champions League Round of 16, with the only Italian team failing to qualify being Inter, who finished bottom of their group after a dismal European campaign.

In the Europe League, Roma, AC Milan and Napoli all topped their groups, thought none of them remained undefeated whilst doing so.
