Lazio sporting director Igli Tare had lunch with coach Simone Inzaghi yesterday, with possible topics being his contract renewal and the transfer market, according to a report from Italian radio broadcaster Radiosei earlier today.

The report details how the 44-year-old Italian’s contract expires with the Biancocelesti at the end of the season. After reaching the Round of 16 of the Champions League, renewal before Christmas seemed all but a given.

There was a meeting after the game against Club Brugge that gave birth to an offer, which hasn’t been formalized yet, although negotiations are ongoing.

Tare, who is acting as intermediary, had lunch with Inzaghi yesterday, where they could have discussed the contract as well as the squad and the upcoming January transfer window.

Lotito also met with Tare, the report continues, although he did not meet with Inzaghi regarding the renewal.

The Lazio president has opened up the idea of a one-year contract extension, with a small wage increase and a hefty bonus should the team qualify for the Champions League again.
