Lazio Wing Back Mohamed Fares Out for a Month With a Calf Injury

Lazio wing back Mohamed Fares’ muscle injury will force him to remain sidelined for at least 20-30 days, according to a report from Italian radio broadcaster Radiosei earlier today.

The report details how the 24-year-old Algerian wing back was already forced to miss the league clash against Benevento earlier this week due to the injury, which has been defined as a calf strain.

The injury is serious enough that Fares will not only miss the upcoming two games against Napoli and AC Milan, but he will also miss the first few games of the new year against Genoa, Fiorentina and Parma.

Fares’ goal is to try and be fit in time for the derby against Roma, which will take place on the 17th January.

Fares has made 13 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 719 minutes.

In that time, he has provided one assist and helped the side keep one clean sheet.
