Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is not known for being a top-class playmaker, but he is beginning to orchestrate a notable season in being an unselfish on-ball midfielder.
Milinkovic-Savic recently recorded a key Serie A assist during Lazio’s league fixture against Benevento. For Milinkovic-Savic, it was his third league assist of the season. And as pointed out by the Italian-based outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi, his assists total ranks up there amongst the most this season over in league play.
Milinkovic-Savic is also now heading towards a career-high for Serie A assists in a season, which may be a feat to watch for. In his five full seasons with Lazio, the most assists that he has recorded in a season is seven, which came during the 2016/2017 campaign. He also scored four goals during that campaign, which was amongst the team leaders over the season.
Milinkovic-Savic is certainly having a playmaking season that deserves recognition.
