Lazio’s Francesco Acerbi and Lucas Leiva both underwent individual training in Formello today, working to be fit in time for Sunday’s clash against Napoli, according to a report from Italian media outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi.
The report details how the 32-year-old Italian defender and the 33-year-old Brazilian midfielder are both suffering from muscular problems, which forced them to miss the 1-1 draw with Benevento earlier this week.
Both players were back on the pitch on this morning’s training session, with the pair first undergoing a brisk run, before carrying out exercises with the ball and then some tennis on a side pitch.
The duo are working hard to be fit in time for this weekend’s important Serie A clash against Gennaro Gattuso’s Napoli, who are currently 5th in the table. They have won three out of their last five league outings.
Lazio are down in 9th with 18 points, six points behind rivals Roma, who sit in 4th.
