Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi confronted the squad over recent poor performances at the training ground in Formello yesterday, according to a report from Italian radio broadcaster Radiosei earlier today.
The report details how the 44-year-old Italian coach spoke to all the players, from the old guard to the new recruits, in order to unite the squad again, push past the recent poor performances and prepare for the upcoming Serie A clash against Napoli this weekend.
“We are strong!” was the call from the squad. It is clear now to all that the team comes first, and any outburst or individualism off the pitch must be put aside for the good of the squad.
Lazio are currently 9th in Serie a after 12 games, sitting on 18 points, six behind rivals Roma who are in 4th.
Sunday’s opponents, Napoli, are 5th in the Serie A table, having won three out of their last five league games.
